This course will delve into the application of ABA techniques for addressing Anxiety-related issues. It will commence by examining the nature of anxiety and presenting up-to-date statistics pertaining to anxiety prevalence in the United States. Additionally, the course will furnish a concise introduction to the following methodologies: ACT, habit reversal, progressive exposure, and behavioral interventions for selective mutism.
This course surpasses the current BCBA and BCaBA Task Lists by specifically targeting the application of Applied Behavior Analysis to anxiety-related concernsโa content area not explicitly covered in existing task list competencies. It remains unquestionably behavior-analytic in nature by grounding its content in fundamental ABA frameworks, including functional assessment of anxiety behaviors, progressive exposure techniques, habit reversal, ACT-informed strategies, and other empirically supported behavioral interventions.
