This course will examine Section 1 of the Behavior Analysts Ethics Code by utilizing case studies. This course is entirely text-based and does not include video content. It will primarily involve reading case studies that highlight ethical dilemmas outlined in Section 1 of the Behavior Analysts Ethics Code. Following each case study, you will be required to provide an essay response. You will also be given the chance to review the correct answers to the case studies and amend your responses to incorporate pertinent information.

Objectives

  1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of Section 1 of the Behavior Analysts Ethics Code.
  2. Develop the ability to analyze and assess ethical dilemmas in behavior analysis through case studies.
  3. Enhance ethical decision-making skills by applying relevant principles and guidelines from Section 1 of the Behavior Analysts Ethics Code to practical scenarios.

Author/Speaker Bio

Dr. Jaime Flowers is a professor of School Psychology at Stephen F. Austin State University. She is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP). In California and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Texas in the state of Texas, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Her current research interest includes behavior analytic ethics, and functional behavior analysis in schools.
